The temporary construction closure of Newman Road between Northwestern Avenue and Deerfield Road has ended, and the road is again open to through traffic.
The road closure began on April 14 to accommodate the Deerfield Road Storm Sewer Drainage Improvement Project. It was a hard closure. No through traffic, specifically between Northwestern and Deerfield, was permitted from either direction. Motorists were asked to use Emmertsen Road as a detour (PDF).
Deerfield Road, between Chapel Lane and Newman Road, closed to through traffic starting around February 17. Residents with addresses within the project area continue to have access to their homes. When work is being completed directly in front of your home, access to your driveway will be temporarily interrupted.
