The Village of Mount Pleasant has contracted a private environmental consulting firm to conduct controlled (prescribed) burns of the vegetation along the southern end of the Pike River corridor between Braun Road and CTH KR on the west bank of the Pike River Pathway.
Between March 24, 2025, and May 15, 2025, Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC (RES) will conduct this burn. Several weather parameters need to fall into alignment for this burn to take place, including wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, and relative humidity. For this reason, no more than a 24-hour notice will be provided to the Village or local residents. This burn will take several hours to complete and may be conducted on different days.
Public safety during the execution of these burns is of paramount concern. The Pike River Pathway along the burn area, specifically in Phases 8 and 9 of the pathway, will be posted as closed while the burn is being conducted. Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC is working in conjunction with officials from the Mount Pleasant Fire, Police, and Engineering Departments to ensure these burns meet ecological goals and minimize risks to public health and safety.
For questions regarding the prescribed burn, please contact Village Hall at (262) 664-7800.
