News release distributed by Mount Pleasant Police Department Sergeant Frank Jaramillo regarding MPPD Case #2025-4100
On Saturday, March 2nd, 2025, at approximately 12:29 a.m., Mount Pleasant Officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Regency Hills Dr. following a crash notification involving a vehicle and a house. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Jeep Grand Cherokee had collided with the front of a residence.
Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the driver, who exhibited signs of impairment. Officers determined he was operating the motor vehicle while impaired and was subsequently arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)– 1st Offense.
The South Shore Fire Department assisted at the scene. The vehicle and residence sustained significant damage due to the impact. The Mount Pleasant Building Inspection Department was notified due to the structural integrity of the residence. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to the driver or the residents inside the home at the time of the accident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
