REGARDING: Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense- Accident

MPPD CASE # 25-008410
On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at approximately 2:38 a.m., the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to the area of STH 31/N. Green Bay Rd. and Northwestern Ave/STH 38, in reference to a reported crash. It was further reported that the crash involved a vehicle vs Traffic Standard. Officers responded to the area emergent along with the South Shore Fire Department.
Upon arrival, Officers located a single vehicle with heavy front-end damage on the Northwest corner of the intersection. During the investigation, it was revealed that crashed vehicle was traveling westbound on Northwestern Ave. striking the Traffic standard. The driver sustained moderate injuries, however, not life-threatening. He was removed from the vehicle by South Shore Rescue personnel transported to the hospital where he was further treated.
The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was also arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated- 4th Offense. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the Department of Transportation was contacted to inspect the damaged traffic standard.
This accident remains under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
