[ARCHIVED] 2025 PROPERTY TAX BILLS NOW AVAILABLE

Property Tax Bills

The 2025 real estate tax bills for Mount Pleasant are available online starting Monday, December 8, and arrive in the mail soon.

Residents can view their bills online through Racine County’s website

Mount Pleasant property owners have until January 31 to pay the full amount, or to make a first installment payment. The Village will collect tax payments until January 31. Any payments made after that deadline must instead go to the Racine County Treasurer.

Property owners have several payment options. Those are detailed in an insert (PDF) included in the mail with the property tax bill, and on the Village’s website.

The property tax money supports public services provided by the Village of Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Racine Unified School District, and Gateway Technical College. The Village in December and January oversees collection of the property taxes on behalf of all of those local jurisdictions.

The 2025 Property Tax Facts (PDF) help sheet explains why a property's tax payment may have changed from last year.

Tax amounts are calculated using two main factors: a property’s assessed value, and the tax rate. The combined tax rate for all four of the local governments decreased this year in Mount Pleasant. That combined tax rate is $16.04 for every $1,000 of assessed property value, a 5-cent drop from 2024.

Each local government jurisdiction has its own tax rate that is based on spending that was publicly reviewed and approved in its annual budget. The 2025 tax rate for Mount Pleasant Village government services is down 42 cents from 2024.

The assessed real estate value assigned to every property reflects its actual market value, or a reasonable sale price if it were listed on the open market.

Property tax payment options include mailing a check to Village Hall at 8811 Campus Drive, paying in person at Village Hall, using secure drop boxes located at Village Hall or two Johnson Bank locations, or paying online at https://ascent.racinecounty.gov/LandRecords/. A service charge is included for online payments.

Residents can choose to pay the full amount by January 31, or to pay in two installments with due dates of January 31 and July 31. The second installment payment due July 31 must be made to the Racine County Treasurer. The second installment payments cannot be accepted at Mount Pleasant Village Hall.

For questions regarding payment of 2025 real estate tax bills, please call Village Hall at (262) 664-7800 and select extension 3.
