  • Implemented in 2007 to replace funding via the tax levy and create a more user-based fee structure, this fee funds the operational and capital costs of the Village’s storm water utility. All properties produce storm water runoff and benefit from the operation and maintenance of Village-owned storm water management facilities. The utility has numerous responsibilities, such as implementing capital projects to address problems with flooding and other storm water drainage issues, adhering to and implementing State and federal permitting requirements, and cleaning, maintaining, replacing, and repairing Village-owned:

    • Storm sewers
    • Ditches
    • Culverts and bridges
    • Ponds and retention areas
    • The Pike River Corridor and native wetland restoration areas
    • Creeks, rivers, and other navigable waterways

  • Residential properties, including single-family homes, condos, and duplexes, as of the 2024 Real Estate Tax Bill, pay the base rate (1 ERU) of $60.00. 

    Non-residential properties pay a fee based on their total impervious surface or total ERUs the property contains. One ERU = 3,000 sqft of impervious surface. 

    Undeveloped parcels and farmland, as of the 2024 Real Estate Tax Bill, pay $19.00.
